Risen blood pressure was reported by a substantive number of teachers. Headaches among other pains were reported in the evening."

He further said that the court of appeal did okayed the deduction of NSSF but an important consideration was not done; unions, employers and Gok have a fundamental responsibility to engage the same court to declare the legality or illegality of double deductions by way of NSSF and PSSS, NHIF and other medical insurance schemes depending on the employer. 

To the best of  his knowledge the law cannot allow deductions that deplete ones ability to grow economically. There is no money in teachers' payslips. There is little circulation of money in the economy. They have no money for their basic needs. The little remaining after all the unexplained deductions cannot even afford the workforce to report to duty through the month. He wondered which courts can allow a country to plunge itself into poverty forever.

To everyone's shock even the commission did not give a prior circular to its employees on the deduction. This tells more on lack of moral authority around the deduction. 

Employers and unions must commit themselves to involve courts to offer their wisdom and stop the trauma on the Kenyan workforce caused by double deductions on the payslips.

Teachers are still hopeful that the Salaries and Renumeration Commission (SRC)  will do what is required of them to ensure that the teachers of this Republic gets motivated and that soon the headlines will be "Teachers smiling all the way to the bank" as is the norm whenever the is a small increment.|AUTHOR|smartex|DATE|1690819787|CATEGORIES|2,3|
