VERSION|fp-1.2.1|SUBJECT|KNEC FINALLY PAYS EXAMINERS & OTHER CONTRACTED PROFESSIONALS |CONTENT|The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) had contracted teachers as examiners, supervisors and invigilators in the administration and marking of the exams last year 2022. According to the information given out, the Examination Council had contracted 28,408 teachers as Centre managers, 28,727 supervisors, 74,990 invigilators and 5,647 examiners. The Kenya National Examination Council only paid those teachers who manned the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and those for KPSEA. Despite the fact that the examination results for KPSEA, KCPE and KCSE results were released early January, the KCSE Examiners and other contracted professionals had not received their pay. The Principal Secretary for Basic Education, Belio Kipsang had announced that all the examiners, invigilators and supervisors who handled the 2022 KCSE were to be paid in June 2023 and the same statement was made by the cabinet secretary, Mr. Ezekiel Machogu last month that the payments was to be made in a weeks time. Yesterday 1/8/2023, they started making payments. Teachers took it to the social media especially facebook and whatsapp groups to inform the others of the long awaited white smoke as they call it. Others took their time to seek forgiveness from the commission as they reacted negatively and had vowed never to be part of it. Some teachers in the city had missed a chance to scan their iris for the promised 25 Worldcoin after it was paused but to their surprise their accounts were loaded as they woke up in the morning. |AUTHOR|smartex|DATE|1690977985|CATEGORIES|2,3|
